Responsibilities:

- Assist the 1st and 2nd Cooks in preparing high-quality meals for passengers and crew members on board the cruise ship

- Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency and quality of food

- Maintain a clean and organized work station, following all sanitation and safety procedures

- Help with inventory management and food ordering to ensure adequate supplies are on hand for meals

- Support in the planning and execution of special events and themed dinners

- Assist with set-up and breakdown of buffet stations and dining areas

- Collaborate with the entire culinary team to continuously improve menu offerings and guest satisfaction

- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance culinary skills and knowledge

- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to food safety and hygiene

- Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment


Requirements:

- Previous experience in a professional kitchen or culinary school training preferred

- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods

- Ability to work in a team environment and take direction from superiors

- Strong organizational and time-management skills

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Willingness to work in a multicultural environment and adapt to different cultures and cuisines

- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and work in a hot and fast-paced kitchen environment
