3rd Shift Production Supervisor

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Responsible for directing, scheduling, supervising, and managing the weld department.
  2. Provides leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training, and development.
  3. Ensure quality standards are monitored and maintained.
  4. Responsible for recording, and enforcing performance metrics and monitoring budgeted and expected performance to established plant goals and objectives.
  5. Use training program to improve the working knowledge of associates assigned in these departments. Monitor and determine the effectiveness of plant training programs and direct changes to enhance the working knowledge of all plant employees
  6. Monitor three waste categories and communicate with operations manager any cost above acceptable limits (OT, Scrap, Rework).
  7. Communicate with scheduling and other suppliers to ensure necessary materials and container requirements to ensure the integrity of the production schedule is maintained.
  8. Ensure all associates comply with the policies and procedures of McGregor Metal.
  9. Ensure consistent and fair treatment of all associates.
  10. Work with plant leadership and other managers to develop a lean culture with the expectation of providing quality products, delivered on time, and at a world class efficiency level.
  11. Evaluate employees and conducts periodic reviews of performance, attendance, quality, and behavior. Take appropriate action when employees are not performing to expectations in any of these categories.
  12. Ensure departmental expectations are provided to our associates, monitored for compliance, and hold employees accountable for their results.
  13. Set a high personal example of professionalism: attire, attitude, attendance, accountability, and leadership.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associates or Bachelors degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • Previous supervision experience required.
  • Previous experience working in manufacturing strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of robotics/robotic welding strongly preferred.
