Position Overview:As an IFRS 17 Accountant, you will be at the forefront of our efforts to implement and adhere to the new accounting standard for insurance contracts. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and contributing to the ongoing improvement of our IFRS 17 processes.

Responsibilities:

  1. IFRS 17 Implementation:

    • Lead the planning and execution of IFRS 17 implementation projects, ensuring compliance across all relevant departments.
  2. Data Analysis and Interpretation:

    • Analyze and interpret financial and actuarial data in alignment with the requirements of IFRS 17.
  3. Financial Reporting:

    • Prepare, review, and validate financial statements and reports to ensure adherence to IFRS 17 guidelines.
  4. Cross-functional Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with actuarial, finance, and IT teams to integrate IFRS 17 processes seamlessly into existing workflows.
  5. Documentation and Training:

    • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of IFRS 17 processes and provide training to relevant stakeholders.
  6. Continuous Compliance:

    • Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and industry best practices, ensuring ongoing compliance with IFRS 17.
  7. Process Improvement:

    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the enhancement of IFRS 17-related procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA qualification is a plus.
  • Proven experience in insurance accounting with a specific focus on IFRS 17 implementation.
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS 17 principles and their application in the insurance sector.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
  • Malaysian citizenship is a prerequisite.
